quarantine qoworking

During the pandemic many artists experienced hard times and had to change their living and working conditions. Many had to give up ateliers, not being able to pay their rent. We went for a not obvious solution. During the lockdown we decided to share our shared atelier with a broader network of colleagues, so we could continue to work artistically even if we could not afford a separate studio. We organised online schedules, not to intersect and keep the lockdown regulations – and it functioned. With the help of the community we reorganised the space, adjusted storage and working areas for communal use. Due to this space many single projects as well as collaborations could be realised in 2020 and 2021.

proletAIR. Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Kultur

The studio was initiated by a group of female artists in 2012 as an experimental space for feministic artists of various backgrounds. In these nine years we have become a big community and a Kunst und Kultur Verein. We share the space and keep it flexible to satisfy different needs and projects.
